Immediate medical attention is advised for persistent high fever, inability to drink fluids, or extreme lethargy. The virus spreads through respiratory droplets, contact with contaminated surfaces, and fecal-oral transmission. Effective prevention includes thorough handwashing with soap and water (alcohol-based sanitizers may not be sufficient), avoiding shared towels and utensils, and proper diaper disposal. There is no vaccine or specific antiviral treatment; management focuses on symptomatic relief.
