Tori-no-ichi at Otori Shrine

酉の市

📅Held every year on the Days of the Rooster (Tori) in November🏙Meguro City, Tokyo📍Otori Shrine🗺 View on Google MapsOfficial page

The Tori-no-ichi fair at Otori Shrine dates back to the Edo period, with a history as old as that of Asakusa's Tori-no-ichi. In the ritual, an offering of "yattsugashira" taro and a kumade (decorative rake) is made before the deity; the kumade, believed to sweep fortune into one's home, has long been widely revered as a lucky charm.
